D1.1 ACTIVE COMMUNITIES OF COMMONERS AND RELEVANT COMMONS

The document offers to map Digital Commons in Europe. In order to do so, we first map the history and the definitions of the concept by scholars and compare it to Free Libre Open Source Software and to Digital Public Goods. We then focus on the beliefs and imaginaries we were able to identify as common to multiple interviewees. We then focus extensively on the sustainability models these Digital Commons mobilize and how they customize their structures to their needs. The last part aims to understand whether and how interviewees use the concept of Digital Commons in their practice, and what value they associate with this concept.
